Tips on Choosing Laminators
- CLARIFYING THE APPLICATION

Before choosing a laminator this is what you need to consider:-
(a) What is the largest document size you would want to laminate? (e.g. A4, A3, poster)
(b) What sort of surfaces do you wish to cover? (e.g. paper, card, photos)
(c) What sort of quantities are involved?
(d) How have they handled their laminating in the past and at what approximate cost?
2. From these questions and Tips on Choosing Laminators, choose from below
the appropriate Series and Model:-
PH SERIES - Professional - If you will mostly be laminating
photos, full gloss material or will be operating a laminator on a commercial basis, then you should
consider a hot roller model, eg. NPH1200, MRHD2202 or a roll film model.
* Be aware that photos may only be laminated with these models using the Foto Pouch
system.
APL 330 - Office, School, Light Commercial - This laminator is
suitable for all general laminating including photos, with no carrier required.
NR SERIES - Office - If you have an office type application and
need to laminate paper, card, photos, etc, then you should consider models NR901 and NR1201.
ES SERIES – Small Office / Home Office - If you have a small office
or home office application, then supply the ES series. The ES series will laminate all items including photos,
with no carrier required.
IMPORTANT POINTS
The volume of laminating and sizes of materials will determine whether you need a roll or pouch laminator. A
pouch laminator will handle small volumes more economically, perhaps 50 or less, in up to A2 sizes. Larger volumes
and sizes larger than A2 would be better suited to roll machines.
If you know how much you were paying to have various items laminated in the past you can cost justify the
purchase of a laminator, by using the cost per pouch or metre of film used when laminating with their own
machine.
